Documentation & Clinical Support Letters

Overview

At times, part of therapeutic care includes documentation that supports your wellbeing in daily life. I provide several types of clinical letters when appropriate, including:

  • Emotional Support Animal (ESA) evaluations and letters

  • Gender-affirming care documentation

  • Workplace and school accommodation letters

  • Return-to-work or wellness verification

All documentation is based on a professional clinical assessment and adheres to ethical and legal standards.

Our Services

Gender-Affirming Care Support Letters

Letters supporting gender-affirming care or workplace/school accommodations are available following a professional assessment.

Each letter is written to meet medical-necessity criteria and align with WPATH Standards of Care. My goal is to make the documentation process clear, supportive, and empowering & never pathologizing.

Emotional Support Animal (ESA Letters)

ESA letters are available for individuals whose emotional or psychological wellbeing may benefit from the support of an animal. Evaluations are conducted by a licensed therapist in accordance with federal housing guidelines (HUD/FHA). Letters may be used for housing accommodations where applicable.

Note: ESA letters no longer support travel.

Accomadation Letters

Accommodation letters support clients navigating challenges at work or school that impact their mental health, focus, or overall wellbeing. These letters can help you request reasonable adjustments such as flexible scheduling, modified workloads, or academic support under the ADA guidelines.

Each letter is based on a clinical assessment and written to reflect your individual needs with professionalism, discretion, and care.

Clinical Support Letters FAQ

  • I offer Emotional Support Animal (ESA) letters, gender-affirming care letters, workplace or school accommodation documentation, and return-to-work verifications. Each is written by a licensed therapist following relevant standards such as HUD/FHA, WPATH, and ADA/Section 504.

  • ESA evaluations are offered as a one-time 45-60 minute clinical assessment billed at a flat rate of $225. This includes the evaluation session and written documentation.

Most ESA letters are completed within 3–5 business days following the evaluation. Timelines can vary slightly based on your needs and documentation requirements, however, I do my best to provide prompt, high-quality service while ensuring each letter meets ethical and legal standards.

  • Yes. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with specialized training in gender-affirming assessment and documentation following WPATH Standards of Care. I regularly provide gender-affirming care letters for clients seeking hormone therapy and surgical procedures.

  • There is absolutely no cost for Gender-Affirming Support Letters or related clinical assessments.

    And there never will be.

I provide these letters free of charge as part of my ongoing commitment to supporting the transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse (TGNC) community in accessing affirming medical and legal care.

Each evaluation includes a 45–60-minute clinical assessment, and most letters are completed within 3–5 business days after the evaluation. Timelines may vary slightly depending on the clinical determination and any additional information needed to complete your assessment.

  • No. I don’t provide documentation for court, custody, or other legal or forensic purposes.

I also do not currently offer immigration evaluation services. These assessments require specific training and experience, which I intend to pursue before offering them to ensure I can provide the highest standard of care.

  • Yes. I provide accommodation and support letters to help clients request reasonable adjustments in their workplace, school, or training environment under ADA and Section 504 guidelines.

Each letter is based on a professional clinical assessment to ensure the recommendations are accurate, appropriate, and supported by your mental health needs. Because this process may involve gathering information, reviewing records, or clarifying requested accommodations, it can sometimes extend beyond one session.

Accommodation letters are offered as a standalone clinical service and are not billable through insurance. Fees and timelines are discussed in advance to ensure transparency and alignment with your needs.
